Like me, I am sure many have gone to bed with makeup on. Sometimes because well, we are just to lazy to use those wipes, then a cleanser, then tone, then moisturize. Well ladies, I have found the solution to all you makeup removing problems and now there’s no excuse to go to bed with your makeup on.
I have used Neutrogena face wipes for years, and while they are great for a quick wipe down to get the top layer of all my makeup off, they don’t remove all of my makeup without some pulling and tugging. I highly recommend carrying Neutrogena wipes for traveling, for a quick wipe down to fix errors while applying makeup, or for light makeup days. While I still keep my Neutrogean wipes around, my go to makeup remover has changed.
I’ve heard so much hype about Micellar water, but didn’t believe it until I finally tried it. I tried the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water for all skin types and I’m obsessed. I just squeeze a few drops on a cotton pad and wipe along my eyes. A few drops on a single cotton pad is usually enough to remove the majority of my eye makeup. I use another cotton pad to remove my foundation and go for a second wipe across my eyes. Unlike other makeup removers, Micellar water doesn’t leave any residue or film on my skin.
I use Makeupforever or Estee Lauder double wear foundation, which are both long lasting so most times don’t come off easily with other makeup removers. In my expereince using Micellar water removes even the most long lasting makeup.
Another great benefit of Micellar water is that you don’t actually need any water, so you can remove all your makeup sitting in bed.
On a recent trip to my local beauty store, I discovered Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash for sensitive skin. This formula does an amazing job removing all my makeup. It is a cleanser so you do need to wash your face, but one rinse does the job. I have been using the cleanser for two weeks now, and I love it. It does a great job of removing all my makeup but it doesn’t strip my skin of oil. I have naturally dry skin, so it’s important that the products don’t strip my face of natural oils.
Overall, my search for a makeup remover is over. Garnier’s Micellar water and gel cleanser do an amazing job in removing my makeup. I haven’t tried any other brands yet, but I would love to know if you’ve used a different brand that you love.
